Mauritius Open 2022, three leaders in the half

Great balance in Mauritius where the French Antoine Rozner (70 64) and the Spanish Alfredo Garcia-Heredia (68 66), with a total of 134 (-10) hits, reached the top of the AfrAsia Bank Open ranking Sami Valimaki ( 62 72). At Mont Choisy Le Golf (par 72) in Grand Baie, there are therefore three leaders in the middle of the race, with the Finn Valimaki failing to repeat the performance of the first round when he set the course record.

Behind the leading group is the South African Oliver Bekker, 4/o with 135 (-9).

Mauritius Open 2022, results

The Azzurri disappoint in the DP World Tour tournament. In fact, the Romans Renato Paratore, 83/o with 146 (73 73, +2), and Filippo Celli, 146/o with 154 (73 81, +10).

Paratore’s performance was fluctuating, starting from the 10th hole and making two birdies in the first eight. Then, four bogeys arrived, so an eagle at 7 (par 5) and another bogey at 9, the last of his day. For Italians, therefore, an appointment for 2023.

The second round at the Mauritius Open goes on file, which despite the horde of South Africans present is not seeing many in the upper areas. Leading the standings is in fact an all-European trio formed by the Frenchman Antoine Rozner, the Finnish Sami Valimaki and the Spanish Alfredo Garcia-Heredia.

For the transalpine lap in -8 with eight birdies, for the Iberian in -6 and for the Finnish even with par after -10 yesterday, which is also the score of the three taken together. Following them, in fourth position, the only South African Oliver Bekker at -9, followed by the trio formed by his compatriot Casey Jarvis, the Dane Christoffer Bring and the French Pierre Pineau, all at -8.

Another transalpine is eighth: it is Julien Brun, at -7, who precedes his compatriots Oihan Guillamoundeguy and Jeong Weon Ko, the Portuguese Ricardo Gouveia and Stephen Ferreira and the South African JC Ritchie, who are all at -6.

The tournament didn’t end well for the two Italians, who already had to say goodbye today due to the cut. Renato Paratore finishes 83rd at +2 with a lap in +1, while Filippo Celli collapses with a +9 today which means +10 total, which means 146th place.
