The 40-year-old from Cannes remains in teaching, but leaves the Victoria Golf Club where the former member of the DP World Tour had settled after his wish to put his career on hold.

It is quite naturally towards the Old Course of Cannes-Mandelieu that the former pupil of Roger Damiano turned to give new impetus to his professional career as a teacher.
“I learned to play golf there and I know everyone. It’s a great project and I thank the teams in place for placing their trust in me,” he explained. Turning professional in 2004 after a fine amateur career, Jean-Baptiste Gonnet joined the DP World Tour in 2007 and never left until 2013.
Disturbed by physical glitches, the Cannes native preferred to stop his career in 2017 to devote himself fully to teaching… before an incredible return in 2019 after a fantastic epic on European cards. His last three mixed seasons and the loss of his playing rights for 2023 convinced him to definitively stop his career as a pro player this time…
